Race Report
KCRL Season 10 Round 6 at Montreal
By TJ Yankee · April 15, 2026

Round 6 of season 10 of the Kansas City Racing League's GT3 PRO/AM World tour is won by Drake Smith in the Pro class, which clenches the league championship for him with 2 races to go. So the season 9 champion is able defend his title with races to spare. A huge congrats to him!
The drivers took on the famed Canadian track of Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in the middle of the St. Lawrence river in Montreal, and the high humidity cause a thick fog over the circuit. The walls at this particular circuit are incredibly close to the edges of the track, so special care was needed for all the drivers, especially during incidents. Drake Smith made the early pitstop call during the first Safety car of the season and was able to win the race against Paige Daughenbaugh in the Pro class. Jake Vanhees was able to hold off a charging Sam Cerino to take the final step on the podium for the Pro class.
The AM class race was just as interesting, with a majority of the field jumping into the pits for their fuel stop during the safety car period, which ended up being the winning strategy. Jacob Winslow had some early contact, but pitting under the safety car gave him his fast repair and the winning strategy to take P1 in the AM class. A three way battle for second in the closing laps between Colton Wheat, Roger Gibson and Brad Jorgenson gave some serious drama for the AM class. Colton Wheat was able to hold on to 2nd in class, with Roger Gibson coming in 3rd. Next week's race is at Brand's Hatch for round 7 of the KCRL GT3 PRO/AM World tour presented by Nerdy Chimera.
